Artist: ATEEZ
Album: “Treasure EP. 1: All to Zero” EP
Label: KQ Entertainment
Year: 2018
Intro
This EP marks the official debut of the eight member KPop boy band, ATEEZ. They are also the launch group for KQ Entertainment. They were able to gain a following from their predebut from a reality show. We really do get to see them start all the way from the bottom. All of their hard work and training lead to this moment.
Good
The actual EP itself is solid. There’s no true standout track, but each track really has a different feel. It has your typical KPop bass, some R&B influence, hip-hop, and more. The songs so far are catchy. They really do make use of the autotune very well.
Bad
It’s a really good splashy debut, but nothing that really blows me away. It’s up there with some of the great modern debuts. If you put some of these songs with another artist, I wouldn’t have known the musical styles. So far, no one really stands out vocally. It’s still really good, and the sky’s the limit with these boys.
Overview
Since debuting with this EP, they’ve really been one of the fastest rising groups in all of KPop doing showcases and performances all over the world. They have gained a huge following and have the charms to make them a very likable group. They could be the rookies of the year in the entire genre the way they’re grinding to make a statement.
I really can see them being the next generation version of BTS. What I mean is that they have a lot of hype and support behind them. They really came bursting out the gate upon debut. They also can lay the groundwork and be the faces of KQ Entertainment. Will they be the next BTS? Time will tell, but for now, they’ll be the first ATEEZ.
