Sistar’s “Sweet & Sour” EP review

Sistar- I Swear

Artist: Sistar

Album: “Sweet & Sour”

Label: Starship Entertainment

Year: 2014

After successful promotions for “Touch My Body” off their “Touch & Move” EP, Sistar made an immediate comeback to release another summer hit, “I Swear” along with another EP called “Sweet & Sour” to solidify themselves as rulers of the summer season.

Obviously, as a Sistar fan, I ended up checking it out. I had very high hopes that it would be just as good as the previous hit single.

I really enjoyed the hit, “I Swear”. It may possibly be my favorite KPop song in 2014 or at worst, top 3.  The song has so much charm and catches your ear immediately.  This is the bread and butter of success we know Sistar for which is fun, enjoyable, and sexy yet classy.

Their B side song, “Hold On Tight” was also pretty good too as it could have been a single if it were on another album, but it was a solid addition.

Like 2012’s “Loving U”, there were only two original songs while the rest of the songs were remixes of preexisting hits.  If you were to buy it digitally, you really only need to buy two songs.  It’s only worth buying if you really need to have every Sistar song ever made.  I don’t think it’s necessary to have them though.

“I Swear” is the perfect song that exemplifies the fun and the bright days of summer.  Sistar has shown time in and time out that they always come through with the hits during the summer season.  They have shown that they are one of the rare groups that’s beloved by pretty much everyone.  I personally have never encountered anyone that didn’t like Sistar.  Their personalities are just way too charming.

Overall rating: 3/5
