Artist: Momoiro Clover Z
Album: “Z No Chikai” EP
Label: King Records
Year: 2015

Intro

Momoiro Clover Z must be the coolest idol group ever. They’ve done theme songs for some of the biggest franchises in the history of anime. They’ve done songs for the Pokemon series and Sailor Moon. This time they complete the trifecta as they did the theme for the “Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F” movie. I enjoyed the movie and the accompanying song.

Good

I honestly first heard this song back in 2015 because I saw them perform the song live. I thought it was pretty hype and didn’t know it was a song for DBZ. After seeing clips of the music video on the screen, I thought it was so awesome that they did a theme for the movie. The song itself is super awesome as it gets you extremely pumped up. The B side track “Cha-La Head Cha-La” continues the excitement.

Bad

Although they recorded an English version called “Pledge of Z”, I usually prefer the Japanese version since it’s their native language. English isn’t their first language, and it showed in the English version.

Overview

I really enjoyed this short EP. Momoclo showed why they’re beloved not in just the JPop world but also the anime world. What makes it even cooler is that I was able to hear these songs in the movie and had the privilege of seeing a performance of the lead single live. It’s so cool to hear it live, and hearing the song again brings back wonderful memories.
