Maki Goto’s “Some Boys! Touch” EP review

Artist: Maki Goto
Album: “Some Boys! Touch” EP
Label: Up-Front Works Co.
Year: 2006

Intro

As I realized that I have a bias in all my favorite KPop groups and a few JPop groups, I realized that some of the JPop groups with massive amounts of members would be the reason why I wouldn’t be able to narrow down which member I favored the most. Groups like Morning Musume and AKB48 just had so many pretty members and it was hard to choose just one member I liked the most.

Maki Goto was the first one that caught my eyes and ears. She was a former member of Morning Musume. I decided to check out a few seconds of some of her songs, and that’s how I ended up buying this EP.

Good

This EP came with two songs which were the titled track and the love ballad, “All of Us”. “Some Boys! Touch” was the song that sold me on why I should check out her music. “All of Us” is the reason I continued to listen to both tracks. It’s a great balance when you could have a dancing single and a wonderful ballad to go along with it.

Bad

Obviously, there were two songs, but I realized that these two songs would go towards a full length album.

Overview

As my first investment into a graduate of a mega idol group, I actually liked it. To be honest, I heard samples of her other releases and actually liked what I heard. I’m looking forward to checking it out.
