On November 4th, 2017, YumeConUSA was held once again on the campus of Foothill College in Los Altos, CA. Once again, it was a single day event which is wonderful as it’s more geared for the local South Bay community. This time, it moved from the spring time to the fall season. Many new changes were made which made the event more enjoyable.
This time to get the community more engaged, a scavenger hunt happened to make sure everyone visited the various areas of the venue from the main stage/dealer room to the gaming room. It made sure that there’s more to the event than a specific room.
There were dance performances put on my local soloists and groups. During intermission, there would be games, contests, and raffles to see who could win various prizes such as figurines, plush toys, and much more from the nearby vendors.
This time there were full fledge tournaments in such games as Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite, and a special mystery game tournament also for various prizes.
Overall, it was a great event. The staff did a great job since there was rainfall which forced an audible towards the indoor venue. It was also extremely fun for everyone that attended.
