Artist: Momoiro Clover Z
Album: “Blast!” EP
Label: Evil Line
Year: 2017
Intro
I love Momoiro Clover Z because they make a lot of fun music. I don’t stan them at all but just love that their concert is amazing, and they’ve done songs for some of my childhood anime series. I enjoyed their previous album, so the anticipate for this one brought excitement. MCZ is one of the most consistent idol groups out there.
Good
The piano led composition for the first official song, “Yum-Yum!” was my favorite track of the song. I could listen to that song any single day of the week. The titled single was pretty hype, and it was definitely vintage Momoclo while “Itsudatte Chousensha” had a rock feel which they have proven time and time again that they can adapt to.
Bad
I could do without the intro, but it wasn’t the bad part. The sad bittersweet moment was that this marked the end of Momoka Ariyasu’s time with the group as she subsequently graduated from the group. I’m so used to them being a five member group. It won’t be the same without her presense.
Overview
I really hope they can combine this album with “The Golden History” along with some additional new songs to create an LP. That would be fantastic as I enjoyed the past two projects so that it can officially end Momoka’s tenure with the group. I want to have that final chapter so that we can all move onto the group as a four member group or unless they decide to add a new member.
