Last Day in 2017 with Gyuri

Everyone knows that I am a huge KARA fanboy. When the opportunity to attend the fan meet for a former member, Park Gyuri, was available, I had to jump at the chance. I was already going to be in Tokyo, Japan for a few weeks, and these opportunities don’t come very often considering I live in the United States. This fan meet was held on December 30th, 2017.

The merchandise area was pretty serious. There were many things for sale like hoodies, phone chargers, stands, and bags. Being the last person in line, my options were pretty limited, so I tried to buy as many things as humanly possible.

This event was at a high scale event and was unlike any other fan meet I’ve ever attended. There was a multi course meal served by maids and butlers. Some of the food, I’ve never had before.

At this event, I was also under dressed and may have been the youngest person there as this fan meet was on the more expensive side. Everyone here was in formal attire and was older side. This event was 30,000 yen or roughly $280 USD. Everyone was seated at a table in a big ballroom as opposed to arena, theater, or club seating.

This event was pretty much all Japanese folks as my Japanese speaking skills are pretty fraudulent. This came into effect as I understood none of the Q&A portion of the event with Gyuri.

She did have a performance where she performed some songs. She did not perform any of the songs she did during her time with KARA.

She also participated in some games with the fans with one guy cosplaying as Sailor Moon ended up winning the entire thing. She also did some poses on the stage for everyone to snap some photos of her.

After the event ended, there was more as there was a photo opportunity which made this wonderful event even more incredible. I did my absolute best to communicate with her as my speaking skills aren’t too great. I just pretty much said I traveled from America for this event and that I was happy.

I got to also meet her parents which was amazing because they’re two of the sweetest people I’ve ever met.

This easily is the greatest moment of my current life as I never thought that this moment would ever come considering KARA isn’t a group anymore, so the chances of meeting even one member was a bit tough until December 30th, 2017.
