On May 25th-28th, 2018, Fanime Con held their annual event at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center in Downtown San Jose, California. Again, it was held on Memorial Day weekend. This year, this convention received a rise in attendance numbers meaning a lot of people know about this event.
Once again, it’s a fan run event so most of the entertainment is left through all of the attendees from native Bay Area folks to the nearby guys of So Cal all the way to many people from outside California. The “fans” of anime and other forms of pop culture ran events such as cosplay gatherings, panels, workshops, and gaming tournaments.
Obviously, the thing that makes this con stand out against many similar events is the late night swap meet and being a 24-hour con lined with events all day and night
Outside of reconfiguring some of the meet up spots for cosplay gatherings, not much actually changed.
Next year marks the 25th edition of Fanime Con which means they should be coming back bigger than ever before.
