On August 11th, 2018, KCON LA 2018 started it’s day two portion at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Downtown Los Angeles, California. This day should be even bigger than the previous day since it also means concert night. Many of the artists that are scheduled to perform later in the evening also make appearances not only at fan engagements but also all over the convention center floor.

Twice definitely was the headlining act that most people wanted to see as their popularity exploded since their last KCON LA appearance in 2016. They not only had one of the most anticipated fan engagements, but they also had many appearances to make which drew giant mobs of Once. They made appearances at some of the sponsored booths and the Q&A portion on the MNet stage drew waves of fans to get a glimpse of one of the most popular KPop acts out there.

Another popular group many people wanted to see was Momoland. They had made appearances the day prior and only cracked up the visits on this day. Momoland was literally everywhere with fan engagements, stage Q&A’s, and many more stops along the way. They really worked hard to bring joy to their fans on day one and two.

A group that met with some of the fans but didn’t perform later in the evening was fromis_9. At this point in time, I wasn’t familiar with the group, so I had asked their fans a bit more about them. It looked like they had a very loyal following. They had a “promise” event where fans would give pinky promises to fromis_9 that they would love the group which I thought was a cute concept instead of the usual high fives. Each member had hardcore fans screaming for their names which is when I realized that this is a group on the come up and worth keeping tabs on.

Let’s not forget that the convention floor was still cracking with people as there were activities for everyone. Freebies and samples were still being given out. People were getting cosmetic goods while people were getting snacks.

The MNet stage often had a legion of fans waiting for Q&A’s and relay dancing with some of the top acts. Many attendees were treated to performances from some of the more newer groups that were already scheduled to perform. They also had covers, demonstrations, and a lot more on that stage.

It was a great day to be a part of the Hallyu Wave on this day. The convention part was a great lead in to what would be the concert later in the evening.

This was at the MNet stage being interviewed. It was definitely the most packed stage during the entire weekend.
