Dream’s “Blanket Snow” EP review

Artist: Dream
Album: “Blanket Snow” EP
Label: AVEX Music Creative Inc.
Year: 2015

Dream is a group featuring Ami, Aya, Erie, and Shizuka. This group had other members previously, but for this EP, it’s these four. They also at the time also were part of the mega ensemble group, E-Girls. In 2015, they released the extended play, “Blanket Snow”. This project is something I ended up really loving.

I love the sweet harmony of Dream. They each get a chance to sing and shine. Unlike the other LDH groups, Dream is the only group where every member gets to sing. E-Girls, Flower, and Happiness are groups where not every member gets a chance to have their vocals heard in a song. The songs are each really beautiful too. My personal favorites are “Present” and “I Love Dream World”.

Dream Aya gets overlooked sometimes due to all members being talented. With that being said, it’s great that she got her own solo song to shine with the song “Kiminiaitai” since normally she is part of the group whether it be this one or the other group.

It is kind of bittersweet since this is the last EP they released with “Blanket Snow” being the last single they dropped before moving on to focus on E-Girls activities. Eventually, all four ended up leaving E-Girls and disbanding Dream to pursue their own endeavors.

I love this group as they provided some amazing music and brought veteran leadership to E-Girls. Sure, E-Girls is my favorite group, but Dream was the backbone of the group. They may not be doing music together actively, but they still keep in touch for birthdays. Aya is active in photography and still works to help manage while Ami and Shizuka have active solo careers.
