Album: “Doradora” EP
Label: NH Media
After going through my entire KPop playlist on my iTunes, I noticed that somehow, I had a lot of U-Kiss songs and albums. I wondered how that happened since naturally I’m into girl groups and higher profiled artists. That’s when I realized I had bought a ton of music from them after seeing them in concert. That’s where this way back then review comes in.
The titled track, “Doradora”, is a really strong single. When it came to do research on this group, I didn’t know where to start, so I had enlisted a friend of mine to help me learn more about U-Kiss. She had suggested that I start off with this single, and she was spot on. I felt that that the lead single was above decent.
I’d say my favorite song on this album is a song written by AOMG members, Jay Park and Cha Cha Malone. The song is is called “4U (For You)”. It is super catchy and less heavy on the electronic sounds
In my opinion, U-Kiss definitely should just stick to dance songs with massive amounts of bass and heavy electronic sounds because that’s what I know them for. I don’t think I’ll ever enjoy any of their ballad songs because none of them ever stand out to me, and I love ballads when it’s done right. “When Love Stops” was a very weak song.
I was thinking about to grade it a 3 or 3.5 out of 5, I went with the higher score because I felt like there were more songs that were listenable over the ones that weren’t. I just remember how hyped the crowd was during their concert. The high energy ones just happened to be more memberable than any ballad they have.
Overall rating: 3.5/5
