Intro
When it was announced that Lisa was returning to the group after a 15 year hiatus, I as a major fanboy, was super stoked. I was wondering if they would be able to recapture the magic they had that made me into a fan. I was hoping that they could be on the same page and create great music for long time fans. I really wanted them to go back to that urban sound they had from earlier in their career.
Good
Thank goodness it sounded like they’ve been together forever and never missed a beat. The lead single, “No Question”, brought them back officially as a trio. Lisa not only showed that she could blend in with DJ Taku and Verbal but she also showed that she can also flourish as well such as doing hooks and verses. Not only were they able to return back to form with their hip-hop sound but also add in some electronic to show that they can return back to old and evolve at the same time.
The track “Prism (Canblaster Synth Harp Remix)” was a wonderful track and felt like an update to their classic hit. There are so many remixes to this legendary song, and this is a welcomed addition.
Bad
The return as a reunified group was amazing, but what everyone wants is a full-fledged album. This EP was just a small taste of what’s to come. As happy as I was with them reforming as a three-person unit, I really wanted more. I feel more will come more in time.
Overview
This EP is a must buy for all those that love m-flo and their music. We’ve gone through their “Loves” series with countless collaborations and through their EDM phase, but the fans finally got what they want with the original lineup. I can’t wait to see and hear what else they have in store.
